Displays from over 40 countries open this Monday the 24th International Fair (FIHAV 2006) in Expocuba, Cuba”s largest display facility.

Near 11,000 sq. meter display exceeds by 2,000 sq. meters the previous edition with 750 foreign firms covering all 25 display halls.

Among the largest displays stand out China, Spain and Russia, plus Venezuela, Canada, Italy, S. Korea, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Iran, Czech Republic, Turkey and Japan.

FIHAV 2006 also involves official delegations from Bulgaria, Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia, Ghana, Guatemala, Argentina, Angola, Nigeria, Algeria and S. Africa, including 19 Chambers of Commerce.

Growing interest in the Fair shows in the 247 million dollars worth in transactions landed in 2004 rose to 400 million in 2005, a figure the 2006 edition is expected to excel.

Organizers claim the fair a key element within efforts to bring down the US near five-decade anti-Cuba blockade yet it is the largest in near 15 annual displays held on the Island.
