Several activities from June 29 to July 9 will be held for the 40th anniversary of the Puerto Rican Mission in Cuba, said Edwin Gonzalez, delegate of the Puerto Rican Mission in Cuba.

An important reason for the Mission, which has dedicated 40 years to spread the struggle of the Puerto Rican people and keep solidarity with Cuba, said Gonzalez in an interview to the Cuban TV Wednesday.

He said that this time, assassinated Puerto Rican patriot and leader Filiberto Ojeda will be remembered “in an important moment of the struggle for our sovereignty, to which we have all the rights.”

A delegation formed by historical Puerto Rican leaders from the National Independentist Movement, and Puerto Rican hero Rafael Cancel Miranda, also known in Cuba, will be present.

There will be a friendly meeting with institutions and personalities who have worked for the strengthening of solidarity between both countries and peoples, and also an exposition on the life and work of Filiberto Ojeda, including the manifestations od the Puerto Rican people when he was murdered.

There will also be a master conference on the current reality of Puerto Rico, and a visit to the Ernesto Che Guevara Memorial in Santa Clara.
