Central Workers Union of Cuba (CTC) general secretary Pedro Ross sent a letter of recognition to the islands collaborators working in Venezuela.

In the letter, Ross talked of his people’s abnegation and love of fulfilling the Revolution’s tasks, praising principles of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas.

Cuban President Fidel Castro sent Sunday his condolences to the family of late revolutionary leader Schafik Handal and the leadership of the Farabundo Marti Front for National Liberation (FMLN) in El Salvador.

“Schafik was a great captain for workers, a great revolutionary leader, an extraordinary human being,” highlights the letter read by Jaime Crombet, member of the Cuban Communist Party Central Committee, during Handal’s funeral rites.

President of Bolivia Evo Morales praised Cubas solidarity effort in helping his nation.

At Tuesday´s opening ceremony of a hospital donated by Cuba, Morales said it is admirable that, despite being US-blockaded for more than 40 years, the Island offers solidarity support to Bolivia and many other countries.

At Tuesdays UN Security Council meeting on Threats Caused by Terrorism, Cuban Ambassador Ileana Nunez denounced the high cost of numberless terrorist actions, mostly organized from US territory, along 45 years.

Nunez recalled the 3,478 deaths and 2,099 wounded and/or permanently physically impaired, as well as the high economic price for her country.

Cuba confirmed its support to Iran in its efforts to master atomic technology with peaceful objectives Monday, in an interview between Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki and a high official from the Cuban Communist Party (PCC).

Fernando Remirez, head of the PCC International Relations Department, spoke with Mottaki about the Non-Aligned Movement, bilateral ties and nuclear energy, the reason for which US wants to condemn Iran.
