Cuban Schools on the Cutting Edge
All Cuban schools utilize information and communication technologies to develop their teaching-educational programs, computers, TVs and VCRs back educational programs in 120,784 schools and benefit 2.3 million students.
According to Granma daily, citing official sources, 3.4 of every 100 people in Cuba have access to a computer (377,000 across the Caribbean island), which contributes to a greater and better use of these technologies, and the number of people with access to email and Internet is also on the rise.

Bolivia Leader Touts Cuban Healers
Bolivias President Evo Morales praised Cuban physicians quality and their cooperation in health.
In the opening ceremony of La Paz university hospital, the statesman recalled the excellent medical care and affectionate treatment he received last year during a knee operation in Cuba.

Cuba Party Member Removed, Changes
The Political Bureau of Cubas Communist Party (PCC) Friday announced the removal of one of its members and changes in the auxiliary structure of the Central Committee, amid the “continuing process for the improvement of the partys role.”
According to a note by the Political Bureau, a meeting headed by its first secretary Fidel Castro assessed “the regrettable, unusual ineptitude of a political figure to overcome his mistakes,” alluding to its member Juan Carlos Robinson.

Morales and Chavez in Cuba
Bolivias President Evo Morales and Venezuelas Hugo Chavez are starting Friday a visit to Cuba and will be welcomed by President Fidel Castro.
Their arrival to Havana coincides with the first anniversary of the signing of agreements between Cuba and Venezuela for the implementation of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA).

Iranian president receives Cuban Diplomat
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, received Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, Cuban minister of government, who is leading a delegation in Iran that participated in the 11th Session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Scientific/Technical Cooperation between the two countries.
In an environment of friendship and solidarity propitious to expanding bilateral relations, the Iranian president highlighted the sincerity that characterizes these relations and expressed thanks for what he called “Cubas brave stance beside Iran.”
