Chavez: LatAm Balancing US Hegemony
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Friday expressed confidence in the viability of joint integration efforts for the economic and social future of Latin American peoples.
Chavez, who arrived in Havana on Friday a few hours after his Bolivian counterpart, Evo Morales, was welcomed at the airport by President Fidel Castro and several Cuban government and state leaders.

Cuba, Venez, Boliv Team up for ALBA
Latin American integration will be boosted on Saturday when Bolivia joins the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA), a solidarity project that has already born fruit for its founders, Venezuela and Cuba.
The new agreement, which reinforces the accord signed between Havana and Caracas one year ago today and makes the inclusion of La Paz official, will be signed on Saturday by Presidents Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez and Evo Morales, at the end of a summit.

Bulgaria: Close Guantanamo Naval Base
Bulgarias anti-fascist daily Zharava made a front page a call Wednesday to “End Hypocrisy in Human Rights”.
The Network of Networks in Defense of Humanity has been collecting signatures urging the closing of the US naval base in Guantanamo as well as other US torture centers.

South Africans: Free Cuban Five
African National Congress Secretary General Kgalema Motlanthe reasserted the solidarity of the South African people with the Cuban Five, in a press conference at Havana International Press Center Thursday.
The Cuban Five (Ramon Labanino, Rene Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero, Gerardo Hernandez and Fernando Gonzalez) were imprisoned in the US for working to stop terrorist groups and individuals from attacking the people of Cuba.

Ghana, Cuba Fortify Relations
President of the Ghanaian Parliament, Ebenezer Sekyi Hugues, confirmed Thursday that African country would widen bilateral relations with Cuba.
Ghana will extend its parliamentary and commercial collaboration with this Caribbean people, declared the Ghanaian congressional leader before leaving the Island, where he exchanged information on various sectors of development, such as public health, education and sports.
