One of the most exciting traditional big matches in the history of the Cuban National Baseball Series will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Havana ballpark, as Industriales welcome powerhouse and historic rival Villa Clara.

Both teams, leaders of Pools B and C, respetively, won their week three-game sets against Ciego de Avila and La Habana province.

Industriales was implacable with Pool C runner up Ciego de Avila, completing its sweep on Thursday with a spectacular comeback 5-4 win on the ninth inning to ratify as the team with most wins (47) in the current season.

Villa Clara, which had upset Pool B runner up La Habana on Tuesday and Wednesday, was shut down by lefthander Yulieski Gonzalez 6-0, who made up the Cuban Team for the World Baseball Classic.

In a game between leaders, Isle of Youth (Pool A) and Granma (D), the latter picked an 11-5 victory and took the three-game set.

As to other matches, Pool B Sancti Spiritus beat Las Tunas (C) 3-1, Camaguey (C) defeated Cienfuegos (B) 7-6, and Guantanamo (D) downed Metropolitanos (A) 5-4.

New three-game series start today.
