Cuba Adapts Software to Education
Cuba will modify free software programs to make them more suitable for its education system, said Education Ministry (MINED) tactician Carlos Exposito.
In a seminar in Bayamo, eastern Cuba, where local specialists are being trained to operate the Caiman version of the free software LINUX, the official explained the joint work of MINED and the Ministry of Informatics.

Varadero Caribbeans Best Travel Destination
Cubas Varadero Beach has been acclaimed in Russia as the Caribbean´s best travel destination in 2005 at the International Travel Fair that recently closed in Moscow.
According to www.travel.ru, Russia´s travel and tourism portal, an online survey conducted all across the vast country revealed that Russian tourists prefer the so-called Cuban Blue Beach to other destinations in the region, including Mexico, Jamaica, Barbados and the Dominican Republic.
The award was presented to Carlos Oscar Hernandez, chief of Cuba´s Tourism Office in Moscow, who thanked the Russian public for their choice of Varadero Beach.
With approximately 14 miles of powder-thin sand and crystal-clear waters, Varadero is by far Cuba´s finest beach and one of the most beautiful in the whole wide world.

Baseball: Industriales, Villa Clara Clas
One of the most exciting traditional big matches in the history of the Cuban National Baseball Series will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Havana ballpark, as Industriales welcome powerhouse and historic rival Villa Clara.
Both teams, leaders of Pools B and C, respetively, won their week three-game sets against Ciego de Avila and La Habana province.

Spanish Manifesto for Cuban Five
Around 167 friendship organizations, parties and personalities from 20 Spanish autonomous provinces have begun a national drive for the release of the Cuban Five.
The document was signed by representatives of Madrid, Catalonia, Valencia, Valladolid, Zaragoza, Alicante, Andalucia, Asturias, Burgos.

US Court Must Annul Cuban 5 Charges
The Atlanta Court of Appeals lacks evidence to condemn the five Cuban anti-terrorists unfairly imprisoned in US jails, said Cuban Parliament Speaker Ricardo Alarcon.
Cuba´s Granma International Weekly today quoted Alarcon as saying the Atlanta Court has no other choice than to annul charge number three in the case of Gerardo Hernandez, one of the Cuban Five, as they are internationally known.
