The facility, which was named after the chief of an extinct tribe, is a port for sailboats and cruise ships sailing in the Pacific region.

Madrid.- The Spanish company Excellence is weighing several options to invest in the Mexican beach resort of Cancun, as part of its international expansion programs.

According to sources from the tourist sector, the group will build a tourist residential complex in Playa Mujeres, where three hotels and 600 luxury residences will be constructed.

London.- The group Le Méridien Hotels and Resorts will expand business in Asia and the Pacific after inaugurating a new establishment in Thailand.

The company will run the Le Méridien Pattaya Resort, at Jomtien Beach, in Pattaya, whose inauguration is scheduled for January 2009.

London.- Great Britain’s Intercontinental Hotels Group will sell seven establishments in Europe, as part of a new strategy.

The sales, experts said, include hotels under the brand Intercontinental in the cities of Madrid (Spain), Vienna (Austria), Rome (Italy), Frankfort (Germany), Cannes (France), Amsterdam (Holland) and Budapest (Hungary).

Bogotá.- Cuba promoted its tourist options at the 25th Showcase of the Colombian Association of Travel Agencies (ANATO), held in this capital.

According to experts, the Caribbean Island showed off its natural, historic and cultural wealth at the Corferias exhibition hall.
