Havana.- The vegetable and fruit canning factory La Conchita has benefited from a broad investment program.

The plant, located in western Pinar del Río province, will be equipped with new labeling machines and equipment for the juice canning line.

Experts noted that the factory will produce mayonnaise and will improve the mechanisms to treat industrial wastes.

At present, La Conchita produces six kinds of natural juice, including tomato, apple, pear, mango and guava, which are highly demanded in the domestic market.

The factory produces forty kinds of products using fruit pulp, tomato byproducts, creams, sauces and vegetables as raw materials.

The company has a stable market in the domestic tourist sector, and its products are sold in hard-currency shops throughout the country.
