Havana Improves Medical Emergency System
Havana.- Western Havana province has improved the Integrated Medical Emergency System (SIUM) after the incorporation of new ambulances in that sector.
Local experts said that 24 new ambulances were incorporated to the health system to improve the response capacity of the SIUM.
The vehicles, they said, will benefit all 38 polyclinics in the province’s 19 municipalities.
Havana has 18 ambulance bases which are staffed by highly trained professionals who assist patients suffering from heart attacks or people wounded in accidents or fortuitous events.
The Mercedes Benz ambulances are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed by doctors, nurses and paramedics.
