Venezuela´s Chavez Travels To Cuba
Havana, Feb 2 (Prensa Latina) Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela President Hugo Chavez is travelling on Thursday to Havana to receive UNESCO´s 2005 Jose Marti International Award, recently confered on the recommendation of a seven-member international jury.
The award presentation ceremony, on February 3 at Jose Marti Revolution Square, will be attended by medicine students from Venezuela, Bolivia, Cuba and other Latin American nations plus 200,000 Havana residents.

A Cuban History Of The Cuban Revolution
FROM June 12 to September 9, Comandante Ernesto Che Guevara made a tour of Asia, Europe and Africa, basically aimed at stating the objectives of the Cuban Revolution that had triumphed in January of that year.
Captain Omar Fernández Cañizares, who also participated in that extensive tour as second chief of the delegation, is launching his book Un viaje histórico con el Che (A Historic Voyage with Che, Ciencias Sociales Publishers) at this year’s edition of the Havana Book Fair.
“The book recounts all the countries visited and the figures with whom Che met, as well as 50 photos taken during the tour,” its author explained.

Cuban Doctors Travel for Bolivia
Havana, Feb 2 (Prensa Latina) A 140-doctor Cuban brigade belonging to the Henry Reeve International Medical Contingent, especially trained to serve in emergency situations, will travel from cuba for Bolivia Thursday, published Granma daily.
The medical personnel is coming to the aid of flood victims in Bolivia, where several areas were affected by recent torrential rainfall that devastated crops, houses, roads and cattle.
Cuba had previously sent an aircraft loaded with medicine to help victims in the Andean country plus 15.7 tons of medicine, 299 backpacks and 40 tents as immediate Response to a call for international aid made by Bolivian President Evo Morales.
Additional measures are currently being considered by the island.
Heavy rains in eastern Bolivia are expected to continue over the next few weeks in what is the peak of this nation´s rainy season.
President Evo Morales declared an emergency after flying over the worst-hit areas.

President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana makes Cuban History by visiting Cuba today
RESPONDING to an invitation from Fidel Castro Ruz, president of the Council of State and Ministers of Cuba, His Excellency Mr. Bharrat Jagdeo, president of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, begins a working visit to our country today.
This visit will contribute to strengthening the excellent existing ties of friendship and cooperation between the two sister countries of the Caribbean and their respective governments.

U.S. Treasury Department withdraws license from agency that books travel to Cuba
THE strict vigilance that the U.S. government is maintaining over enforcement of restrictions affecting Cuba has intensified with its withdrawal of a travel license from a travel agency in Florida that books trips to the island.
Molly Millenvise, spokeswoman for the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), said that the restrictions are aimed at strengthening OFAC’s regulations for enforcing sanctions on Cuba.
